Flunk the Budget Rally at GHS Open House, April 3, 2008

In 2008, GHS PTSA took up the mantle of California State PTA by  adopting the campaign to "Flunk the Budget" when Gov. Schwartzenegger proposed a 10% across the board budget cut. Since California stands number 46 of 50 states in cost per pupil for public education, and we have been fighting to increase the normal revenues  since Prop 13 passed, the knowledge of all public schools losing an additional 10% in funding was the worst possible  news. Therefore, PTA organizations throughout California partnered with school district officials, teachers and staff on a  writing campaign to our legislators urging them to "Flunk the Budget" where education is concerned! At Open House,  PTSA collected hundreds of signed letters from parents & students to present to Assemblyman Paul Krekorian, Senator Jack Scott and Gov. Schwarzenegger in Sacramento.
